Celebrating Oregon Beer

Your fortnightly round-up of all the beer and hop news from the Beaver State.

Fresh Hop Season is Here!

The Oregon hop harvest started last week!. In the picture above, posted on Facebook, Team Montavilla visits Goschie Farms, where Gayle Goshie is on hand to deliver the green. We have started to see announcements for the first fresh hop beers hitting taps now. Keep your eyes peeled! (But also, don't look too hard--they won't really get rolling until after Labor Day.)

We will be spending the next month reposting hop and fresh hop info and pictures on our Instagram page, so go follow us and watch for updates from farms and breweries. Now get out there and enjoy some fresh hop beer!

Brewery Visits Up in '26

Encouraging news from the Brewers Association: brewery visits are up to the highest level ever, and the increase in the West is outpacing all regions but those in the South.

Terra Hops Released

The Hop Breeding Company has released two new hops bred for high bittering potential in a series called Terra Alpha. They "deliver efficient, dependable bittering alongside outstanding agronomic characteristics."

Oregon Brewing History

KPTV's Oregon Tale podcast turned its attention to beer recently, interviewing Kerry Tymchuck, the Executive Director of the Oregon Historical Society. They discussed everything from Oregon's first beer to modern IPAs.

We got hats!

Oregon beer fans, show your pride! Celebrate Oregon Beer has some new merch, and you can sport one of these beauties now. The proceeds benefit our nonprofit, which means you can look gorgeous and support efforts like this free newsletter. You know Oregon is a special place for beer--now you can let others know, too!

A special shout-out to our collaborators at Double Mountain Brewery, who helped us coordinate with Brewery Branding (hey, that’s a local company, too!) to host our merch on their site. For a small, new nonprofit still trying to fund itself, it was a big help! While you’re there, you could even buy a Celebrate Oregon tee as well.

Support us and let the world know about Oregon beer!
